Hello, my name is Yashica Davis. I am the Teacher for the Visual Impaired (TVI) at Monticello Elementary School (MES). I have been in the field of education for the state of Mississippi for 23½ years. I began my career with the Department of Mental Health as a Children Therapist for 2 years and as a Psychometrist and Academic Teacher for the Boswell Early Intervention Program for 8½ years. In 2011, I began working with the Department of Education. I served as the School Psychometrist for the Lincoln County School District for 8 years. I received my Bachelor’s of Science degree in Elementary Education (K-8) and Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling from Jackson State University. I received my Visual Impairment certification from Texas Tech University, Lubbock Texas and I currently hold a Specialist’s degree in Instructional Leadership from William Carey University. The 2023-2024 school year will be my 4th year as the TVI for MES.
